​Biological Research Technician​​​​​​


​Saskia is a biological research technician with the Ecosystem Assessment component of the Saudi Aramco-KAUST Marine Environmental Research Center. Saskia has expertise in HPLC analysis and purification of glycoproteins (IEX, SEC, RP, affinity chromatography), HPLC analysis of phytoplankton pigments, Flow cytometry (bacteria and picophytoplankton), Fatty acid analysis of plankton using Fast-GC, Elemental analysis, Analysis of stable isotopes (C, N; EA-IRMS), Spectrophotometric analysis (including determination of nutrients in seawater, determination of concentrations of proteins), application of enzymatic treatments, preparation and microscopic analysis of chromosomes, working with cell cultures and fluorescence-in situ-Hybridisation (FISH).​

Research Interests

​Saskia's research interests extend to analytical and operational support of ecosystem assessments in the marine environment.
